NERD Club November meeting
Our first meeting was in November 2024 and we were really fortunate to have Paul Baker and Claire Branston come to do a session of bird ringing.
It was a fantastic afternoon and our total for ringing was 28 birds which was incredible. Special thanks to Paul and Claire who led the ringing. They will be back in the spring when we have the baby birds to ring.
8 coal tits, 10 great tits, 7 bluetits, 1 dunnock, 1 goldcrest, 1 nuthatch.
All the tits were also colour ringed according to a special licence we have for colour ringing these species and we hope that we will be able to do some observational work on the individuals coming to the bird feeders later in the winter.
Ruedi will be submitting the results to the BTO, we will report back on any recoveries from Upper Woodburn birds.
